Cup o' Coffee and a Good Book

Whether it’s cold outside or not, one of the most wonderful things -- for a bookworm, at least -- is curling up with a book and cup of coffee. As a college student who is up at all hours of the night trying to plow through the ridiculous amounts of reading that come with being an English Major, I appreciate this more than most. Unfortunately, after the first dozen cups, plain coffee gets a bit boring and running across the street to Starbucks is painful for my ever shrinking wallet.

I was in Wal-mart with my aunt when I found out about this little trick. We were in coffee aisle, looking for something that wouldn’t hurt my budget while tasting better than the instant, tea-bag things I usually got. Seriously, they tasted like water and something that really wasn’t coffee. A very nice lady who was also perusing the coffee aisle suggested this, so I can’t take credit. I can, however, say that it is pure genius.

All you need is your coffee, whatever bells and whistles you usually apply, and a can of instant hot chocolate.

Anyone see where I’m going with this?

It’s so simple, but it’s probably one of the best things I’ve come across when it comes to a cheap cup of coffee. Simply make your coffee as you always do. For example, I use instant, which tends to be a bit strong for my taste so this trick really helps me out, and add sugar and vanilla creamer. Then, add a spoonful or two, depending on taste, of hot chocolate to your coffee and voila! Instant mocha!
It’s so ridiculously simple and in just a couple of cups, totally paid for itself.

'till next time.
